I don't think there's anyway that mine is DNMC. But I'm getting beaten with the same stick. So I don't think it's necessarily the DNMC crowd. Just unhappy people.

Sounds ominous...
Anyway, seems to be some happier voters now partially undoing the damage of the 1-dropper.

35 votes and not a comment in sight. Must be a pretty mundane image. Sigh. |

Nice one, tempting to give you a 1 :) I think you have to make a form of it. It's hard to fill in this way

Just finished voting,
A lot of shots that shouldn't be considered "Macro", and some that I don't see any definition of "Street", but regardless many of which are very well executed and scored accordingly.
You have rated 110 of 110 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 7 images (6%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.1000. |

Wasn't watching, but a hard dive over 4 votes seems to indicate one of those rascals was a "1"...guess I didn't escape. But otherwise a fairly nice recovery over the last 8 votes, avg 7.000. I like it, and some others do, too. Life is good.

I'll generally accept an extreme closeup. As far as the street part, that's kind of hard to define, since there was no description for this challenge. Some people may want to see actual pavement in the shot, while other feel that in this context it simply means "found in the real world, not in a studio environment".

That was my definition for voting. Also, I never took the term "macro" too literal, just as long as there was a nice close-up, I was happy. |

just voted, a lot that didnt seem to fit the challenge, but only gave 1x1. like you say a lot not macro some even wide lol or street related, and alot seemed contrived and set up which researching street macros also doesnt seem to fit this challenge

I debated back and forth on this one. Should I show pavement or not. I finally went with walking down the street and taking a close up of something that was on the street. I have been bouncing between 5.9 and 6.2. I took a chance and I am not doing to badly. |

I guess i did not understand street macro (I just did a macro of street style but definitely a indoor set up shot)
I think I'm getting hammered for it .
or maybe it just stinks (i thought it was OK but I'm just a beginner)

I agree with both of you. no description for this challenge. Let go down to the definition Street Photography and Macro Photography.
Street photography is a type of documentary photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places such as streets, parks, beaches, malls, political conventions and other settings.
Macro photography is close-up photography, usually of very small subjects. Classically a macrophotograph is one in which the size of the subject on the negative (sensor size) is greater than life size.
When the two combines; this challenge suit best for P&S camera and worse to full frame user. so, close-up shot with the story of street photography should be acceptable because it's understandable that in 1:1 macro, the background go 100% bokeh. |
