I'm sure most of the world doesn't know who Steve Gleason is. However, we in New Orleans know him as a hometown folk hero. He made a name for himself when he blocked a punt for a touchdown in the first home game after Hurricane Katrina.

He came back to the Superdome today to publicly announce that he has ALS. It is already affecting his muscles.

Please read about him if you get the chance.

EDIT:
Video of the Big blocked punt.

Steve Gleason.

Thanks,

KS

I also know someone who is dying with this disease. He came out of a coma after about a week but he doesn't have much time left.

They gave him a Super Bowl ring and a key to the city in a ceremony the other day. He was part of one of the most memorable moments in Saints history!!
