My "Nikon QUICK CHARGER MH-23" has been acting up lately. Sometimes it will work just fine but other times it doesn't light up when I put my battery on it. Other times it lights up but doesn't blink when I know it is completely dead.

Any thoughts? Is it time to get a new one? Or is it time to get a new battery? Or both?

Do you have more than one battery? It could be the charger, but it could also be the battery.
I currently own two batteries, and one is constantly giving me problems when charging. I will put it in the charger, and the red light (indicating its charging) will come on, but half the time the light just turns off completely, instead of turning green. When that happens the battery is still completely dead. But as said, half the time it still charges properly and the green light comes on.

I do know it isn't my charger though, since I never have problems with my second battery.
If you only have one battery, I would first invest in a new battery, since those are cheaper than a new charger.

The contacts on the charger or battery might be dirty... maybe try cleaning them with swabs first.

I don't have another battery, unfortunately. I will try to cleaning them off and see how that works. I am just about as broke as it gets so hopefully that will do the trick. If not... Well I guess you won't be seeing much of my work in the future. Lol!

There is a place online where you can order two batteries for 20 bucks, which is a really great deal.
I forget the link, but if you do a forum search I am sure you could find it. Or ask YoSpiff, he is the one who recommended it to me.

I was looking online at DP Review to see if you could plug the camera into your pc to charge... doesn't look possible, and the dummy battery and A/C cable retails for $118. Better getting an aftermarket battery off ebay.
