Did you ever see an idea so simple, you say to yourself 'now why didn't I think of that?'

Well, here's one: //www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-14967535

The fun police put bleach in with the water, to stop exactly these kind of shenanigans. The last thing they need is a population explosion.

That's an active railroad, by the way:) Some houses as close as one meter from it. The guy being interviewed used to be a model/actor who gave up showbusiness to dedicate his time on such projects. Some of his other projects include houses made of volcanic ash/clay, etc., to provide alternatives to families who cannot cope up with the ever-increasing cost of building houses.

Cool idea, but here's another one. Put some windows in the wall, voila!

lol - Yeah, chisel out some square holes, and then wait for a double-glazing salesman to arrive.

There's nothing to see. The houses are practically attached to one another by the roof. The walls are almost adjacent.

More than once a month, you'll read in the local news one of these squatters' areas razed by a huge fire. One house catches fire, all 2000 of them get burned down, because the walls are inches apart.

Like the reporter says at the end... "Sometimes the brightest ideas can also be very simple..."

It's an old idea. Sailing ships used glass "deck prisms" to light the space below decks
