The above stats are of a Registered User that recently commented on a challenge submission leaving a score 6 for the photo and what would have made the photo better, the comment was way off with the processing and light source used to create the photo and opposite to the comment. as you can see there are no votes cast recorded against this user. I saw today that a similar action against a ribbon photo. I PM'd the user but no response is forth coming.Leaves you to wonder if you can't be up front why join DPC.

Why does it matter? They are commenting so why discourage that?

If you don't agree with the comment... we... ok... welcome to the rest of us :-)

Sounds like they just enjoy viewing and commenting.

This I have no problem with, until the comment is so way off the commenter is gum bashing.

I didn't notice she was just a registered voter before. I guess she's letting us know what her vote would be.

Some of the comments seem a bit perplexing though. Like on elsapo's winning image, "8-nice portrait, good high key".

High key?

ETA: FWIW, I appreciate the comments. Looks like they may have signed up just for this challenge!

First that comment was just "4", then it changed to "6 nice portrait" and then "8-nice portrait, good high key" all in the last hour hahaha I was confused! but thanks for the comment =)

There ought to be tons of decent reasons for joining DPC and if anyone wants to vote or comment that is fine by me. The people who get a comment on their image can take it into consideration, or ignore it; but lets not discourage new folks, even if they might not be right in all they say.

The person might not quite understand how to actually vote. Could be that they think that votes are based on comments.

I was reading about the rose voter earlier, seems a theme

yeah.. initially, she wrote that she gave me a 7 then changed it to a 10. when I looked at her profile, she does not have any votes cast. I think I like her.. :D

did anyone PM them to let know know they need to click the number to rate?

As a new registered user, she probably didn't realize she couldn't vote in a member's challenge. If the numbers weren't there for her to click on, then she probably thought that was how to register a vote. Really, it's not a big deal. But you now know what she would have given you if she could.

No, No No! That is "She, that shall remain nameless"! It's bad luck on here to actually utter her name. You've now opened up a Pandora's box. Nice going Kimon...geeeez! ;)

Don't worry about it Dave. You'll be fine. Kimon, however, will be cursed with low scores for year for posting the name of she-who-must-remain-nameless.
