For workin in LR and PS what does it matter more?
Memory, processor speed or graphic card?
I was planning to upgrade to a MacBookProbut because of budget restrictions I must again stay in the pc/windows game.
So I was hopping you guys could help me figure out what to look for in my next laptop.
I've seen some good promotions in some stores with Windows 7 64 bits with 6 or 8 GB memory, and dedicated graphic cards ith 1 or 2 GB of ram.
Please share your knowledge with me, if you please.
I'm looking to stay under 1000€. If you know any online store that would be a good info too.

Processor and RAM. Super duper graphics is nice to have and I believe some of the current Adobe products can take some extra advantage of a GPU, but it does not take a lot to push relatively static pixels around the screen. I believe you will see more benefit from 8Gb or more of RAM and a fast multi-core processor.

I am also looking at upgrading my laptop. So far the only one that beats Macbook in quality is:
//www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/801612-REG/Sony_VPCZ21TGX_X_Signature_VAIO_Z2_VPCZ21TGX_X.html
The price is horrible (ouch!!) but I need a very good quality screen so that I can see what I am doing and the colors are close to what they should be. I also think that i5 CPU is an absolute minimum and 64-bit a must. I am not sure about USB3 as I have it on the desktop and it is not much faster than USB2. |

I can't imagine editing on a 13" screen no matter how nice the display. I find I really need the real estate when editing, when you are away from home and a second screen isn't an option, 16" or more is needed.

| screen is important, go and have a look at your final choice in a store just to make sure that as you move your head around the colour and contrast don't change too much. |

16" is way too heavy for cycle touring :) |

I think that depends on what you are using on it. Some devices don't need more bandwidth, such as a mouse or keyboard. Those work just fine even on USB 1.1. Are you using USB 3.0 peripherals?

TZ2 is supposed to be much better than Macbook Pro so it must be pretty incredible. |

If it is not a USB 3.0 hard disk, then the speed of the drive and it's USB 2 interface is the limiting factor.
