Own a Canon 1000d, and used bulb mode to shoot some star shots last weekend. Apparently I should not have done that as now I have several "pinked" out pixels. Not a bajillion, but about a half dozen or so (which are more annoying than anything--but still grrrr.). Is there any way to deal with this, or am I just screwed? I plan on upgrading here in the next three months, but would really like to fix this if I didn't destroy the equipment. SIGH. *tear slides slowly down to my chin*

Now that's strange.....
Try sticking the blasted thing in the freezer - but bag it in a ziplock with as little air as possible first. Of course, that's just a shot in the dark. |

Are the pixels only showing on your long exposure shots, or are they on all shots you've taken since then?
It's very normal for pixels to go wonky during long exposures.

| I'm pretty sure I've heard of some cameras having a program to "map out" bad pixels, though I don't know how, or with what they replace them ... why not ask a Canon technician at their site? |
