Post your outtakes from the Horizontal vs Vertical challenge here.

Entry:


Outtake was the tree to the left of them, the same one I have entered a few times before, and it was my first ribbon. I decided the single tree would not be perceived as a landscape in portrait, but as a vertical tree in portrait. The two trees worked better for the topic.


I also considered soliciting some harsh critiques with a sideways marquee border:

Loved the original entry and gave it a great score. Number 2 is terrific, too. Number 3's bizarre vertical letterbox is too much for me. You made the right choice for your entry.

My original thought was an egret or gbh (great blue heron) standing, but in a horizontal crop. But when I got one flying, I had to change it to a horizontal bird in a vertical crop. :)
