Just noticed there are two almost identical photos in the Time III Challenge... Looks like same location, same subject... One zoomed in a little more than the other...

Not unusual... A GTG or just doubles shooting excursion often leads to this. I've seen this quite a few times now, but I still fondly remember a challenge where there were three very similar shots, one of which ribboned..

no you didn't. I think we're not supposed to discuss specific entries on a current challenge..

edited to be more specific

And this is also quite correct.

There were three photos of Cornish mine buildings in the Abandoned Building challenge, all within 6 miles of each other. Mine was one, and I did get quite a surprise when I went through the challenge!

I'm not discussing any specific entry... As a matter of fact, I haven't been specific about anything... Just commented something I found curious... No other intention...

The issue stems entirely from your mentioning two specific entries in a specific challenge. (You may not have directly specified the entries, but you did indirectly specify them)

Not a big deal, just something we try not to do too much (I've never heard of any real action being taken other than a forced edit of a post)

Ok... My bad then... Won't happen again.

Not uncommon in Bridges III there was a shot taken at almost the same location, in fact i have almost the same composition but decided to shoot another.

Fourth place, Mine

Fifth Place Joker1114

the one i didn't enter, minus the lighting its nearly identical to Joker1114

But mentioning that two photos were of the same subject shouldn't affect someones vote on the photo right?

If you were to say, "I hate the entry with the flying turtle" then we could talk.

Anyone remember the outrage caused by the twin photos in one of the self-portrait challenges? I'm too lazy to go find them now.

There was also quite a bit of outrage when a high school class started using the site and they were all entering very similar images (there was outrage about other parts of this too, but the similar images was the tip-off).

Some fun entries from those two. I thought their entries into the DNMC challenge were quite amusing. They each entered a photo of the sister and titled it "self portrait".

Taken at different locations and dates. Same lense, different mount. I did not know he was there or did he knew I was there. Just happened to select the same shot for entries. Truly shows how precise the Blue Angels are. Our scores suffered according to comments.
