Any Denon 2310 Owners? - DPChallenge Forums

..who can actually understand its manual. I am having a hard time trying to connect headphones to 2310 using an optical cable. Help!

I have to ask :-) - why would you want to connect headphones via an optical cable?

What Headphones are you trying to connect via an optical cable ?

I assume the sound will be better if I use digital rather than analog connection but it does not work if I plug it into Denon Optical Out.

Ok - so you have the Sony unit connected via the Optical out (bottom left) ?

Yes, it says OUT Digital/Assignable OPT DVR

I think you need to assign that in the menu - Take a look at page 35 of the manual (which is not great!). Look for how optical 3 is set up - I think the default is V.AUX - if you get stuck I will try and help but I dont have a Denon and it is difficult trying to work out just from the manual! (I have a Pioneer)

Just sent you a PM - as that V.AUX optical assignment refers to the front panel of inputs.
