The results seems to point to that..
IE users are thick.
FYI, I am a Chrome user. Looking forward to hearing from all the smug Opera users out there! |

Based upon the fact that I've never heard of Camino (and I'm an IT guy), you'd think I was an IE6 user. But I use Firefox mostly. |

Firefox users are the smartest, but you have to have the smart guy extension installed. I may have installed the smartass extension by accident.

I'm guessing that you support and use "real" computers... Not those silly Apple things. :) |

Do you think maybe the study is a bit skewed due to the fact that there is a substantially larger share of IE surfers out there than Firefox/Chrome? By that I mean that the test of IE users is from a much larger pool which would bring the averages down closer to the "norm". Firefox and Chrome users are a more of a self elected bunch, ie. they chose Firefox or Chrome directly vs. getting IE with their computer. People who choose directly are likely to be more computer literate thus likely to be more educated etc etc. These studies are a fun exercise but quite meaningless really.
BTW - I use both Firefox and IE and have tried Chrome. They all have there pluses and minuses. |

I do use and support Windows PCs, but have nothing against Macs. I owned Macs back in the 80s in the System & Finder days. |

I have to agree. Ive been working and living IT since I could reach the keyboard and from my experience. The average computer user uses IE because it is there on the computer from the start. The above average computer user IMO uses anything and everything but IE as it is sometimes a huge pain the ass.
Thats just my take on it.
For me, I prefer firefox. Chrome opens each new window as a separate instance and therefore uses more of your comp's resources. |

Yup, but to me thats a plus as if a poorly coded site or dodgy flash app crashes it only takes that window down with it - not the whole browser - but I also like Firefox as well. I dont think I have had a complete browser crash of Chrome since I updated my system to a 64bit OS over a year ago. |

True, but if you have firefox setup to re-open tabs from the previous session then all you need to do is kill the problem one when it pops back up..
Either way.. Its all personal preference, But I have yet to hear from anyone who uses IE because of the user experience.
