I have yet to achieve my personal best :-)
07/29/2011 05:45:50 AM · #27
It's been 4 years in November since I donned the tutu for the first time and gotten my PB. No high hopes of ever beating it. But I have placed 2 new images this year into my top ten.

October '08 for my PB, but I've rotated my Top 5 continuously since then and put my #2 shot, and my second 7+ score there this year.

I'm steady in my continued progress, and I'm happy about that. This place has been wonderful for my photography.

A little over 2 years (May 2009). It's going to be hard to beat 7.5

Almost 9 years. I wonder if that's a record.

Looking back through the thread I saw this

Pretty close, but mine was August 18, 2002.

I still like my photo and it's done okay for me as a stock photo, but the editing was terrible.

Personal best score at DPC was 09/21/09.... nearly two years ago and an 8+. My high water mark is probably in the rear view mirror. However, my personal best photography was yesterday. (May be exceeded by today's captures.) I am enjoying my landscape and wildlife photography very much and no longer hinge any happiness on scores at DPC. The target output for my photography is large format prints for the gallery. These do not always translate well into 800 pixel limited rectangles. Sure, I know my problem is I don't shoot specifically for the challenges. I almost always shoehorn in entries, so what do I expect? I do appreciate the jump allowance from 640 pixels to 800 pixels. That was a quantum leap. I would favor a lifting of dimension constraints to 720 pixels on the vertical, with 1080 pixels allowed on the horizontal. But, then, I'm talking my book.

You have evolved! Sounds like a goal achieved.

There's a thread for that!

Ha, that's what I get for posting late at night. I'm unable to correctly read a thread subject.

No problem, just figured you might like to put that shot in the other thread, too.
07/29/2011 11:24:47 AM · #39
Hmmmmm...8/21/2007 seems a lifetime ago. ;-)
07/29/2011 11:55:31 AM · #40
Mar 12, 2006

that puts me in the top 5 on this thread so far. I got it shortly after I joined. I'm never going to beat it.

2008. and 3 of my 4 tops were taken that same year. astrology, anyone?

More urgently we might want to start a withdrawal thread - no not a leaving thread, but a How Long Since You Got An Alternate Recognition?

LOL...I like this idea!

Mine was May 2011 and it will be a long time before I can top it. If I even can? My PB is a 6.8 and my second best is only a 6.1. LOL

1 03/31/2004 7.5526
2 09/26/2004 7.4307
3 03/20/2005 7.3088
4 08/01/2004 7.1023
5 05/11/2003 7.032
6 01/15/2006 6.9732
7 07/12/2011 6.9441
8 09/30/2004 6.9373
9 08/01/2004 6.8776
10 09/07/2003 6.8255

Not even close to GinaRothfels, but long enough! Heck, how depressing, I haven't broken 7.0 since March of 2005 :-P

End of June is a pretty good time for me:

June 30, 2011 6.89
June 29, 2009 6.67
June 1, 2007 6.77
April 29, 2006 6.73
Feb. 1, 2005 6.66

Most of the rest of the time, I've been working hard on shoring up the 4.0 row.
07/30/2011 08:14:18 PM · #46
Everyone needs a good solid 4.0 row. Would you believe there are some on this site who don't have a single score in the 4s? They've so missed out on some of the finer things in life, I think. :-)

Yea, well, that nearly 2 year break you took probably didn't help any. :P :P :P

I have 37 finer things, and five 3s for good measure!

Below 5 are the 'finer things.' Well, hot dog diggity. I've got almost 10 pages (99, to be exact) of entries below 5.

:P

I scoff at you. I have about 270 4s and 42 3s.

Even FourPointX has only 62 4s.
