Got mine installed this morning with just a couple of problems. My MS Office for Mac (2004) broke so I had to buy 2011 to fix this, my Parallels broke too (running Win7 Ultimate on that for our business Quickbooks). Got the updates for Parallels and all is good. All my printers seem to work fine too. Still playing with features. FYI for those using Intuit products .. I was told they are not supported in Lion. Thankfully I switched my Quickbooks to the Windows version a couple of years ago (Mac version was lacking in many ways). So far I am liking it but I did change the scroll option on my mouse/touchpad .. didn't like the backwards feel. |

I'm holding off upgrading just yet. I've been following the comments on this website concerning Lion.

I might give it a try soon, apparently lightroom works fine. |

I like Lion very much on the dawn of the next day. The natural scrolling is more, well, natural to me. Just took a while for my brain to adjust to the intuitive
gestures. I printed a bunch of big photos for the gallery last night. My wife said it was the best printing sharpness, clarity and color ever. I do think there are some display and printing improvements, but maybe my imagination. Might be a new printer driver and/or graphics card driver that came with Lion. There may be some things they aren't telling us, knowing we will discover them as surprise gifts. That's nice.
Overall, speed and stability seem much improved. Aperture and all the Nik plugins are working great.
For the first time, I want one of those magic trackpads. in Lion, the magic mouse may be less of a navigation tool than a magic trackpad. |

When I saw that Apple is taking us from "Snow Leopard" to "Lion" I thought to myself, "Snow Leopard was way cool, Lion is so overdone, that's a step backwards, guys!" :-)
I'm actually giving some thought to migrating to a MacBook Pro in the not-too-distant future...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a puma is a cougar is a mountain lion.

I'm hearing "500 internal server error" at the Mac App Store. Sorry for anyone who is inconvenienced by the delay. I'm not surprised there was a bottleneck. |

My comments so far:
-I'm really enjoying the gestures. In safari (which I started using again since Firefox doesn't go full screen yet), I love the two finger sliding to left and right to go back & forward in history. You can also pinch to zoom, just like on an iPhone or iPad.
-Full screen mode with dual monitors is REALLY annoying; I can't imagine them not fixing that in a future update.
-I use a Macbook Pro (only 13 inches) so I'm looking forward to full screen CS5 and Lightroom in a HUGE way.
-4 finger "pinch" brings up the Launchpad, which I just set up. It's a nice quick way to get to applications I use easily (other than the ones in the dock)
Anyway, I haven't played with it too much but I look forward to taking more time to explore. |

Thanks for that tip. In Snow Leopard I was using three fingers to navigate forward and back. But when I turned on the three finger drag I was having a lot of problems. I'm glad I can have the best of both worlds :) |

In just two days, I find myself using my mouse MUCH less often. I wasn't a big fan of the trackpad on my MacBook Pro up until now, but I think I finally found my groove. Maybe I can ditch my mouse & just use the trackpad and my wacom bamboo for my photo editing. |

It works perfectly, I just did a calibration. I doubt a spider can tell the difference between a leopard and a lion anyway.

Temporary lion compatibility issues:
1. Carbonite statement.
2. Dropbox "forum build 1.2.16", which does resolve compatibility issues.
I haven't run into any other compatibility issues. I did order a magic trackpad for $69 because of the gestures feature. |

Just upgraded an almost 4yo MacBook Pro (that had been running sluggish and I was thinking I needed to re-install Snow Leopard) to Lion . The upgrade seems to have gotten rid of some junk and it runs zippier now- yay! It's still slow as molasses running PS plug-ins and some Lightroom adjustments and though I'm happier post upgrade I'm still lusting for some new hardware :(
My Mac Mini seems a little zippier too with the upgrade.
Dropbox seems to be working okay for me.
I have a Magic Trackpad I hadn't been using much, but probably will now for the extra gestures though I love the Magic Mouse and wish it had the same gestures as the trackpad. I did notice on the Mac Mini it took a little bit of fiddling to get forward and back swipes working with the Magic Mouse.
So far all is good... |

On the first restart the JRE update hung but after a forced shutdown and restart it ran and all is good so far. I like the launch pad. Now my laptop works like my ipod when searching for an application. Not having to open the applications folder to find an app not in the dock is a plus.

I agree, and I took some out of my dock since now it's easy to get to in Launchpad. Now my desktop is cleaner. |
