After my accident last year every achievement since has been a huge step. My health recovered well but there were some areas that never recovered and are still deteriorating every day. To the point I have had to cut back on a few areas of photography to try and cope. I tire quickly and my work load hasn't helped. Whilst I initially wasn't going to enter the APPA (the national competition for the Australian Instituate of Photography of which I have been a member for a few years) I decided at the last minute to throw some images in.
I just watched the live judging and am very excited as I scored a silver with this image. My other images came in just shy of the silver range but nevertheless...this has been a huge achievement for me. Yayyyyyyyyyy!!

Yayyyyyyyyyy!! indeed - congrats, Judi. Sorry about the tiredness thing - I often wish the world (the bits of it we make) were better suited to taking a cat-nap from time to time...

Congrats on the recognition Judi!!! This is indeed an achievement....as is every day that you have recovered little by little what you lost in the accident. I am still amazed at your determination and and accomplishment with . As you said - you did it! When you say that there are some areas that you are still deteriorating....I hope there is a chance for a reversal. You are a very strong willed lady, given time, the possibility exists that the body will fully rebound. |

I wanted the image to have two different sides...the fun, loud side and then the serene reflection with the quiet subjects and the little bird in the tree and the image to be framed by the natural surroundings. There are two sides to every story and I wanted to bring that into this image.
