When I try to start Remask 3, I get the error message: "The procedure entry point ?detach_grow@QListData@@QEAAPEAUData@1PEAHH@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library QtCore4.dll." I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Remask 3, I uninstalled Remask 2, and Remask 3. Went through the plugins and removed any refrences to Remask, then reinstalled Remask 3, and get the same error message every time. I've also tried re-downloading the product, and still get the exact same error message.
Any ideas?
I've emailed Tech Support, but they won't be back until Monday, so I'm hoping that someone else has an answer for this issue.
Using Photoshop CS5 Extended, under Vista 64. 4 gigs of ram, Quad Intel Core Duo processor. |

I've never had any issues with ReMask, but a Google search of your error came back with only one hit. Someone who was getting the same message and resolved the issue by re-installing. I know you said you already did this so I'm not sure what could be going on.

Has it ever worked, or has it always given this error?
ETA: The QTCORE4.DLL file is associated with a development environment, probably the environment that the Topaz plug-in was developed in. It is possible that uninstalling the plug-in does not uninstall the DLL, and that the DLL is corrupt. You could try replacing your copy of that DLL, and see if that fixes the issue.

| I have not gotten Remask 3 to ever work. I probably launched Remask 2 when I first got it, but I really don't remember using it. |

Did you happen to alter the install path? Under Vista and Windows 7 64 bit programs get installed under the program files directory and 32 bit apps now get installed under the program files (x86) directory. I'm sure you're aware of this, but in the past I've known install programs to be unsure of which to install to due to the programming. Just because a program or plug-in is 64 bit doesn't mean it always gets installed under the program files directory. In a lot of cases the actual program needs to go under the 32-bit directory and then certain aspects of the program will get installed as 64 bit etc.
My question and/or point is...and since I didn't change my install path...did you leave it to the default location or did you change it to the opposite directory thinking it should go in one or the other?

Short answer is it went to the default directory, which is alongside all the other Topaz products.
Which is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Topaz Labs\Topaz ReMask 3
ETA: I looked at the other person's problem, and they said they re-installed 3.1. I'm not sure if it is a typo, or they went back from 3.2 to 3.1. I don't have 3.1, so I can't go back to try that.

Okay, and just to eliminate any known issues that may cause it to crash did you read this on the site regarding upgrading to version 3.2 and POSSIBLE issues that might occur with older versions of Fusion or the use of a Wacom Tablet with older drivers? Just trying to cover all the bases here. |

I have a tablet, but not Wacom, and not using it when I tried to use remask. It has been disconnected from the computer through the entire process.
Topaz Fusion is not installed either.
Guess I'll try the Wacom version, can't work any worse.
I hadn't found that regarding the Wacom and Fusion issues. Thanks for the help! |

Success!
Evidently it was the tablet drivers, even though it is not Wacom, and not in use. Installing the Wacom version solved the problem.
Thanks again for the help! |
