Quite disappointed with most of the photos. Some of them are really well done, but lack in fantasy or creativity. Too nany landscaping, too many flowers...... come one! like the courage of alternative subjects. That are value in kind!

Not every challenge needs to be dominated by "fantasy or creativity" ΓΆ€” these are lovely attributes, of course, but this is not a challenge that cries out for them. In the real world, calendars are mostly characterized by straightforward photography, usually of pleasant/attractive things. In particular, landscapes are a fixture in calendars, landscapes that convey a regional flavor.
Still, I guess if you're disappointed, you're disappointed... We're all entitled to our preconceptions, prejudices, and biases :-)

I know what u mean, and in fact as you said, most calendars are characterized by landascapes or flowers. That's why I think, everything else is a kind in value and must be considered better. Having say that, I intentionally did not upload any landscap/flower/animal photo because it's too obvious.... |

Yup. A person just can't win this argument. I had a shot that I really loved, but just didn't seem to fit a particular month, so I saved it for the free study. So you have two choices: Go for the unusual and get DNMC by the people expecting monthly calendars or you go with the normal and get the "same old, same old" comments.
Personally, I thought the idea was to go for the calendar shot, and see how well you can do with it. Otherwise anything goes and it's basically a free study. (actually, it was basically a free study anyway.)

The thing is, you can buy a calendar with basically anything on it. All kitties, dogs, baby animals, babies, landscapes, regional landscapes, men, women, occupations, flowers, etc. and so forth. So yes, it is a free study and therefore there is no such thing as dnmc. |

A few excellent shots, a few good shots but a lot that I found really not what I see as calender shots. It seems a lot of people just took this as a free study... :-P

I always laugh when the description is specific, and yet people feel the need to elaborate. This has nothing to do with the photos, just the titles. "Your title should be the month to which your photo belongs." I think I need more coffee.
