Anyone know anything about this ? It looks like a really interesting way for photogs to put their skills and talents to good use.
Video 1 is worth watching all the way through
Video 1
Video 2 is much shorter and punchier - asks some really good questions.
Video 2
This is their main website
Help-Portrait Link
I have no direct knowledge of this org except having stumbled across it just now - but what a tremendous concept

I saw this post on my way out of the house this morning in a rush and did not have time to look at it; however, I would love to be a part of this although (from the first video) it seems as if this is almost a professional photographers only deal. That being said it may not be and in which case I would love to join. *website fav'd for later after I finish up editing photos*
Thanks for the link! |

*forum search seems to be completely dead / ineffective.
Pretty sure it has been posted here and discussed in the last year. Looks like a fantastic idea and very popular. |

Glad you liked it :- )
Well worth going to the website and looking at the forums. Firstly you can search for existing groups in your own area / country - but it's also interesting reading about people setting these things up.
I agree that the main video looked very professional high tech - but it obviously doesn't need to be anywhere near that fancy to do good.
Useful tip I picked up from it though was that while we all have cameras - getting hair and make up artists along was also essential for the full effect. |

I haven't seen it before, and it really choked me up. What a wonderful thing to do for someone -- make them feel special and beautiful. |
