I've never really done the sun flare thing. Do you think I was successful?

Technically, yes. I don't find the image appealing, personally, but it's not because of the sun flare. You did a good job with that.

What's off about the picture that doesn't appeal to you? |
Not speaking for Bear but.....I think the sunflare was pretty well captured, but for me, the image is not appealing due to 'the almost kiss' - I don't personally find the open mouth on the man to be attractive. It seems that the man is about to eat her rather than kiss her. A half a second later or before, with them actually in a kiss or with her looking lovelingly at her would have worked so much better. |

Gotcha. I have one of him kissing her cheek but the sunflare is a little harsher. This was the most well balanced one as far as tone and such. |
