If you entered the one I think you did, I would expect it to still be somewhere in the mid to high 6's.

low 6s at the moment -- which is still happy. Just no comments yet. I'm just pouting since most people seem to have comments already. It gives me something to do in the morning. :-D |

| I've just had a vote of 1 - I don't think they liked the photo very much! The 9 I got before that was equally unjustified, so the votes balance themselves out, I guess. |

Assuming you consider the average photo in this contest to be worth 3.4776 then 5.666 is almost a score worthy of the cover of national geographic I would say. |

Some of the photos I've seen in national geographic would get creamed on DPC.

5.66 is a very good score considerng you are pretty new to the site. 6.8 to 7.2 is the range for top 5 placement. ...also...I usually see it different than Hahn23. I get the feeling that the first 10 - 20 votes are higher...and then trend down.

With less than 20% of the votes registered, it's too early to say anything about the votes. It is fair to say that some of the early voters cast below average votes. |

believe it or not I think that the majority of us (ME for sure) would appreciate having a honest, polite, constructive comments vs "Nice Shot" comments. If I see something that "I think" can be improved on, I try to point it out...but then there are always those on DPC that are just plain rude (I tend to ignore the ones that rant on) in their responses wondering "why don't you love my picture", my response is "well read what I wrote"...lol
Bottom line as long as your polite you can just about say anything and we (I) will always appreciate the effort you took in making the comments. Thank you...I'll away your comment... ;) |

Having the same problem here, 3 comments with dnmc because people think it's a studio shot, which it isn't. Stupid me, but I still know it's a good pic, so it doesn't really matter. Have a few people saying it will ribbon, but can tell you all it won't. |

| Mines the same. DNMC too much like a studio shot comments. Oh well, to each their own. But on a bright note I have some wonderful comments as well. |

Just because it looks like a studio, doesn't mean it is. I plan to give shots the benefit of the doubt and assume that people followed directions. Not assume that they cheated.
I think it's incredibly worthwhile that people did shots that look like studio shots- it shows people that you don't have to have complicated lighting systems to get those results.
Bravo to all the studio looking shots that did them in a garden. :)
(Btw, I think mine looks like a garden shot, ssoI'm not trying to save my own shot. :) |
