You could get the 50D now, and sell it when you save up the rest of what the 7D will take. Or buy a used Rebel so you have something to use until the piggy bank is full. I picked up a Rebel Xt body in nice condition for $200 recently.

ummm.... I was supposed to sell the 20D when I got the 40D. Umm... it never happened. (which is good, because that's what I've been using as a backup each time the 40D broke. Never liked the 20D -- the focus seemed soft.)

My husband doesn't believe it anymore when I say I'll sell something; he's a wise man!

Canon 7d is better than 50d? or 5d is better than 7d and 50d? I have read all discussions on this forums...Bottomline, as profession photographer I think the most important key fact is who is behind camera?? I have been shooting weddings and portraits with my 40 and 50d for years and images are great! also full frame camera is the best choice for those photographer who wants to shoot billboard advertisement.
