Yup, same here. Dropped 0.4 in just a matter of a few votes. Perfect case of a troll with multiple dummy accounts. I wish there were more restrictions on voting like if you haven't entered in at least 10 challenges, you are not allowed to vote. Just my 2 cents. |

Dropped .2! Wow! Well, it puts it in line to finish at the 5.6 I'm expecting. |

I would assume there must be a way for them to do an audit of some sort, as every vote is logged. See who is voting all the ones. |

Agreed, you should not be allowed to vote on other challenges until you have been in a few. Of course you should always be allowed to vote on a challenge you are in.

I disagree. Why must you enter to vote? Don't we have complaints that those that enter actually vote lower than those that don't? Having SC watch the voting patterns and culling out those users that don't vote appropriately is enough for me. |

Perhaps a little misunderstanding here. You should certainly be able to vote in any challenge that you want to regardless of whether you have entered in that particular challenge or not, however I think there has to be a rule on the minimum number of challenges entered before one is allowed to vote. The reason for that is it will decrease the chance of voting with dummy accounts in the open challenges. I know that the SC tries their best to catch these things but sometimes it is just too difficult to do so.

I understand the point, but I disagree that you must have entered challenges here in order to vote. There are other sites and people come in with varied levels of experience. To penalize folks from voting until you have x (where x could be 10) challenges under your belt , you are preventing someone up to 3 months (for a registered user) or 1 month (for a PAYING member) from voting - too long in my book. There are very few instances of vote tampering, and those that engage in it will (and have) gotten caught.
Our worse problem is that too few people are voting as it is now. With only 100-150 votes being cast, each vote has more weight. By encouraging more people to actually get out and vote, we will actually have less issues.

Unless restrictions are put in place where you cant vote unless you are A) a paid member or B) entered into 'x' amount of challenges you will always have this problem. It is way to easy to create an account, vote on one challenge then never use it again. The SC unless they have someone specifically monitoring this would never be able to keep up.
Main users are not the ones dropping votes on everyone but themselves, sure maybe now and then, but overall not so much. Its these dummy accounts, where they vote one 10 and the rest all 1, 2 or 3 |

We can have SC chime in now, but if the last case does happen, it is my understanding that those votes get scrubbed. |

Yes, there have been a few instances that have been exposed in the past but we only know about them because they have been way too obvious and hence been tracked down and caught. How do we know that this is not happening every week on less obvious level? |

I have stopped posting in the forums (this is an exception). I might as well stop entering most challenges. I wasted a truly beautiful image on this one. The voters are extremely harsh. A score of 5.19? Crazy!! :(

I looked at your profile, you have some amazing pictures in there. One of the things that keeps me from going crazy (as I am nowhere near the best photographer on this site) is to keep in mind that DPC is one venue of the art. I compete here because it challenges me, not because my score is the end-all be-all of my photo's artistic worth. BTW, there have been times when I would have prayed for a 5.19 on a shot. LOL.
