Hey all

A couple years ago I saw a book mentioned on a thread, which seemed to be considered the best book around on lighting, especially for studio. I believe its title was Creative Lighting, don't remember author name. Ring any bells out there?

IMO (and many others) it's light: science and magic. Just reading it myself now.

I would second LSM... Dry as hell but well worth the effort.

Have a look at Kirk Tuck's studio book (Think they are all Minimalist of something in the name) - I love his writing style but others have been less impressed with it (I am a fan of his and his blog posts are also good reading).

I also liked a couple from Christopher Grey on studio lighting.... He is far more formal then Kirk but presents in a clear concise way.

Light: Science and Magic is the book I would recommend as the first view. It covers a great deal, and includes some very nice descriptions on types of lights, light set ups, how to photograph glass and shiny objects, etc. A good resource.

I have a few ebooks I could email you so you can get a taster, only have a hard copy of LSM though so you will have to SNAFFLE our word for it.

Baaahahahahahaaaa...

OK just got off of Amazon, ordered Light: Science and Magic book and saw the book that truly rang the bell for me, Understanding Exposure. I do belive the latter is the book I had in mind originally but went ahead and got both.

Thanks all for your help, will wave to you from the podium ;-)
