Mid 5s is good. I gave out several 7s and 8s so I know where mine should place.

Held up surprisingly well overnight. Still expecting to see it drop into the 5's, though.

Probably a decent score for this entry

Though it's been falling consistently. Was at 6.8 at 11 votes, 6.7 at 14, 6.6 at 18, etc. I think I just had some happy voters in the beginning. :D

I'm loving the comments, and at least one noticed exactly the effect I was going after.

And, I was all excited, thinking that maybe, I'd broken out of my 4 and low 5 rut. *SIGH*

5.48 25 votes

Using the DPC Widget to get scores !

5.50 24 votes

By how it is lurking between 5.48 and 5.55 it looks like I'm getting 5s and 6 votes. More 6 than 4s !

I'm on a sub 5 score roll on these last few challenges. I will have to rethink my POV entry cause I know it's not DPC worthy and I need to get out of this slump!

Unless you're worried about your OVERALL average on DPC, then I would enter the best photo you have for any given contest.

Just think...by not entering, you have ZERO chance to get tips on improving on that photo. This does not mean that entering it will get you some comments, but at least there is a chance.

If I start out to shoot for a challenge, 9/10 times I will enter it.

Solid advice. I just know that I'm not too happy with my POV entry. I'm gonna tweak it in the next few days and see if I can create something I like better.

+1 on this one. If I bother to shoot something for a challenge, I enter it, regardless of how I think it will do. Why go through the bother of shooting otherwise? I went out of my comfort zone and way out of my way to shoot for a particular challenge. I didn't bother entering it, because I didn't think it was good enough. I really regretted it, and I've always wondered what type of reaction it would have gotten. I figure that it's just as important to learn to take the lumps as well as the accolades. Who knows, you may be surprised? Or it might get hammered, but you might gain a nugget of valuable insight. If you don't enter, you don't have a chance at either outcome.

I enter regardless too. I can't wait for the next challenge just to read what the entrants say about that specific challenge. I learn everyday and enjoy photography more than any score.

As far as tweaking it....hopefully this means re-shooting a different set-up or reshooting the same set-up to get a better photo.

If you feel the image isn't worthy of DPC and you try to improve it in Photoshop....it won't make in better IMO.

Dropping nice and steadily like a bomb on target for the brown from 6.125 after 8 votes to 5.4222 now after 37 votes. 3 comments...one saying how beautiful an image it is, another one also loving it and a third hidden comment saying only "s" which I take to mean either s for super or s for s^%*t.
Personally I love my image and I think it's worth more then most voters seem to be giving it credit for. Looks like this is becoming a trend looking back at my recent efforts in challenges. Start of high then drop like the proverbial brick and hardly any comments. Makes one wonder sometimes if it's worth carrying on at all.

I only have one comment from a person I respect and who really praises my entry.
I get a warm fuzzy feeling when that happens and for a few moments don't even notice that my score is dropping wildly.
