Now that the voting is over, it is very interesting to notice how much lower the participants voted than the non-participants. Not just on my shot, but across the board, at least on the top-10 images.

True... it's sad how people feel the need to vote low scores for other entries when they have a vested interested in doing well... give an image the vote it deserves... if your image TRULY is good, then it will end up on the front page regardless... I will admit that I am a harsh voter at times, but my voting is consistent across all entries and I know the difference between a '1' and a '10'...

And I always try and leave constructive feedback too

I think voting was particularly harsh in this challenge. I have a theory, as crackpot as it may be.

In voting concurrently:
Click on FS, check out the photos. Overwhelming amount, overwhelmingly good, overwhelmingly processed and professional, and overwhelming to vote on.
Click on 7 sins, check out the photos. Basic editing, nothing flashy, small number of entries, people just having fun. Easy to vote on, and easy to ding.

While my photo was not very interesting, or good, or worth a high vote, it was a hell of a lot better than many other photos I've entered, yet it received 32 votes of three or less. That, I think, is a bit crazy. I'm not complaining, as the end score is fitting (though I think it should have been arrived at with votes of 5 and 4). But for me it serves as an example of the overly harsh voting in this one.

Yes, the top photos received a lot of ones, but look deeper into the field and you'll see a lot of perfectly good photos that got absolutely slammed.
