I know Rugman1969 and he will destroy anyone who comes to get him....he has a "not so secret" gas weapon.

I have been voting on Free Study and really can't find a truly bad one like you say you have. Do you have a square image? I don't.

Or maybe they just think the subject would work even better with a square crop. I think I may have left some comments similar to that in the past when I thought a different crop could have worked well.

Someone wasn't sure that it was a real square? :)

ROFL!

I think it might have been one of those, rebel, round squares! :P

I haven't seen any squares yet in this challenge. Is it because I'm on the metric system?

Unless you enter an open challenge, I cannot vote. So whether or not it would alter my vote doesn't matter. But fyi, I vote on a photo based on whether or not the rules were followed, and how good/bad the photo is. Doesn't matter who's it is.

Apple's Aperure 3.1.2 has a very convenient crop tool. No need to guess. One can choose the desired aspect ratio and then concentrate on composition.

Not everybody owns an Apple/Mac computer or software.

Wow, hating on Richard for pointing out a feature of a tool, when many others in this thread were pointing out similar features in similar tools. Better things to do with your time indeed...

Not hating, just pointing out the fact not everybody has this software.

I was surprised at how many were not square! After all, that is the theme of the challenge. I can forgive a couple of pixels off, but not 100 or so.

You picked mine on 20 pixels!!!

Would you like to post your title, too? (I didn't change my vote! I assume it's just a "culture" thing on your part.)

"Culture" thing? Is that a blatant racist remark?
And unless you want to scroll through 3 pages of photos checking to see which one is off by 20 pixels (I have so many better things to do with my time), then no one will know which one is hers.

You are not mature enough to use the Internet. Seriously.

That's your response? Maybe you should look in the mirror and see who isn't mature enough for the net. Seriously. I wasn't even talking to you, nor were you involved in the conversation.

It appears that you may be voting incorrectly and against the stated guidance from the site if you are voting down images that you suspect to violate the rules. It is your obligation as a voter to assume that the image DID follow the rules, and then if there is a question in your mind about whether the image followed the rules, you submit a ticket challenging the photo. But, you need to separate the rules from the voting.

What are you talking about? Did you not understand my post? There is no assuming if an image followed the rules or not. If the challenge is airplanes, and someone puts in a car, the rules were not followed. How is this complicated? You cannot separate the rules from voting. Part of the voting score has to do with whether or not the rules were followed. I never once said anything about voting an image up or down if I could figure out whose it is. Where did you get that from?

I think he means the editing rules.. your not allowed to vote based on if you think the editing rules were followed.

Check with that kenskid guy, if you have time. We took him at his word.
