Does such a thing exist where I can switch lenses between cameras? For example the Sigma 105 Macro and the Sigma 50-500 are both available for Canon & Nikon. I assume the lenses (other than the mounts) are the same so does Sigma make an adapter? Why not?

I have never heard of one, also never thought of it before.

But can't imagine Nikon wanting Canon lenses on their camera and visaversa so the would lobby against it ;)

On totally manual lenses, it is possible for some mount combinations to create an "adapter", e.g M42 to Canon EOS.
For modern lenses, the lens needs to know how to "talk" to the camera, so you need the proper electrical as well as mechanical connections, and the proper software and possibly different electronic hardware to provide the interface. So the lenses are really NOT the same.
