I was looking at the Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR DG IF-ED on DPC and noticed something interesting in the lens statistics. The top 14 scoring pictures using that lens are by 14 different photographers:

Breeee123, charmayne, Cutter, gaeali, jdannels, Jovan, kloutit, kvickrey, librodo, Pedro, Rissa, Spizzer, tate, yakatme

I'm proud to be 6th on that list :)

Seriously, that is a fantastic lens and is useful in so many different applications from shooting birds (as in my place on the list) to portraits (best on full frame IMO), and especially for sports.

I used it quite a lot on Thursday night on my D700 to capture the action on stage for the First Annual Voices Against Cancer Benefit. I'll post some pictures after I get some paying work done (post processing for other shoots). I got VIP admission and got some fantastic shots of The Beach Boys with John Stamos, Gloria Gaynor, Lou Graham of Foreigner, The Osmond Brothers (50 years!!!), and lot's more.

That lens worked extremely well on the D700 without flash.

That's great, Robert. I look forward to seeing some of your Benefit photos.
