Great. My preference would be for fall rather than late summer.. Less traffic, less chance of a hot and/or really humid day etc. etc.

Well, thankyou all for your interest. I will watch this thread and if I plan an outing to Boston, I'll see if anybody is up for it. I would like to go during the blooming lilacs. I am not sure if it was Boston, but I think it was Harvard that has some sort of big area of all kinds of lilacs and it is amazingly lovely with the smell and the avenues of lilacs. Anybody know for sure?

That would be the Arnold Arboretum Arnold Arboretum I was there 8 or 9 years ago and it was lovely.

Well glad to see this got some people talking again, and tho a gtg would be fun sometime in the summer I was thinking/looking more for weekend shoots just for something to do, so doesnt have to be any planned event. btw, I know my photo on here as there is only one semi sucks, but my real shots on my site are better I promise :)

Just give us a shout if you want to come shoot on Cape Cod. PennyClick and/or I will often be up for a little photographic interaction. We're half a mile from Nantucket Sound in Harwich Port, near the elbow of the Cape.

I recommend taking the extra drive to P-Town. Its a nice town and you can go on a whale watch there.

There's a whale watch boat that leaves from a harbor half a mile from us too :-) And when the whales aren't in season, you can explore Monomoy Island and its resident seals and birds.

Cool. I didn't know about that. I'll have to keep that in mind if I ever get a chance to get back there. With kids around now, we tend to stay more local. Its amazing how much fun a 4 year old can have on a submarine. :)

When are the whales in season and out of season?

They start to ripen in mid-spring and you can pick fresh ones through October.

May through October is the best time to watch them here. Shaddup, Shannon :-)

I'm in northwest CT and would love to get together, either for spontaneous weekend photo shoots or a more organized formal one. Please contact me for either.
