We usually bring it up earlier than this, but since it hasn't been mentioned (that I've seen), do we want to have a DPC get together at Ricketts Glen this summer? We've done it the past 3 years and had good participation. Or do we want to pick somewhere new? Are people tired of the same location?
Let's hear from everybody that usually shows up (and anyone in the area that would like to join us). |

Since I'll need to put in for a day off soon, how does Sunday, June 26th work? I think we did it on Father's day last year (or was that the year before?). |

I don't think I am going to be able to make it on June 26th. I will be on the Big Island drinking Mai Tais |

So when ARE you available? Penny and I might be up for this one if the timing's right. But we'll be getting back from 5 weeks in California on June 12th, so July's a lot likelier for us...

I'm interested. Dates are flexible. |

Well, since Peter and Robert can't make that date and it only works moderately well for Alan...what if we tried for later in July? Say July 24th? I might be able to do the 17th, but since I'm already taking the 10th off, I don't know that my boss will let me take 2 Sundays off in a row. |

My only issue with pushing things back later is that the waterfalls really get weak after the winter runoff... at least that has been the case these last couple times. Last year we hardly had any decent water flow, which worked against getting really nice shots of the falls.
I'd be in favor of trying it earlier, although the only weekend that would really work for me would be May 15th.
But whatever works, works. It's impossible to find a date that works for everybody... it would be best just to pick one, go with it, and whoever can make it, makes it. It's easy to get really frustrated trying to pick a "best date," from past experience. |

Alan, we're keeping you in your annual position of "President of Rickett's Glen." You've done a good job of being our decisive leader for a few years now. We need you to stay on in this role. :)
Pick a date, start the official thread, and we go with it. :) |

95 degree heat isn't much fun either. |

Nawp. Not interested! No 95-degree heat for us, thanks! Good call!

Wimps. You're gonna be right beside nice cool refreshing water. If you get too hot, just go for a swim. :) |

Ha... I thought that whoever started the thread about it was automatically declared the President, and you were self-nominating :)
What do you guys think about May 15? Relatively short-notice, I know... but this might be a good time to do it if we want good water flow and < 95-degree heat :)

You're much better at organizing these things than I am.
And May 15th is one of the few weekends I can't make it. I don't think my parents would be happy if they flew up from Georgia to see me and I wasn't there. |

I'd go if the water was there ;)
I like the May date for that better than June (and I probably couldn't make early June) |

I would be good with June 5th.
May 15th and July 10th are pretty much the only weekends I couldn't make it this summer. |
