Has anyone here bought their camera through some sort of "price match" through a retail/online store? I mean like, taking a dSLR price on a bait./switch site and taking the price to Circuit city and getting the price matchted down to like 900? (10d example)

Harrison, I'm across the water in the UK. I got my A1 from a High Street retailer and they price matched an online company. They refused to price match the cheapest as it was not UK based but matched the second cheapest. Shop price £699 (with a "previously £799" sticker) Online price £559 so saved £140. However, when I showed them my 7% discount card they said enough is enough.
I love it even though you can find them for about £550 now the A2 is out. Wave your cash at them and best of luck :)

Wave cash? theyll take it and run!
also, im talking about an astronomical difference, like the 10d availible for like 900 or the 300d availible for 600.

I bought mine at the Future Shop here in Canada and they matched CameraCanada.com. I saved about $180 + 15% Tax when all was said and done. They'll match the price up to 30 days after the sale.

Yes, I bought my Fuji S602 from Staples and they priced matched the rock bottom bait and switch BroadwayPhoto.com price. Then Staples tried to cancel my order the following day. After a week of complaining they finally honored the price. I ended up saving $250. Unfortunately, I also got six months of digital karma when the camera turned out to be faulty. Fuji's service sucks! Sorry, I just had to get that in there. Anyhow, Staples will price match Internet prices plus some percent of the difference. But unlike my case, they'll only match prices from AUTHORIZED dealers. The key is proving that to them. |
