Thanks for noticing that disparity Karen! It appears the whole challenge should looked at carefully and if those 11 voters are "friends" of the photographer of that one nude image and all gave that one image a 10 and the others a 1, everything should be recalculated with all those voters scores deleted on every entry.

Can that actually happen? Has that been done before?

Yes I believe it was done when the Ricky fiasco happened.

Mine, a male nude, got 14 1s. I took it to be the usual rage-against-the-body until I noticed that virtually every human figure, nude or no, had a suspicious number of 1 votes. Thanks for sending in that ticket, Karen.

He was getting friends to vote for him and inflate his scores. He was banned.

Shit!! That's not allowed? Even if you only have one friend?

Your entry would not get 14 1's from a group of real photographers. That's total crap. It's a really great shot.

The bell curves on all the photos look strange, whether the overall score is low or high.

No, it's not. Noted in every set of challenge rules: "You may not hold more than one DPChallenge account, ask anyone to vote on your behalf, or link to your entryĂ¢€™s voting page."

And more specifically in the Voting Rules:

You may not:
vote in a manner that suggests an intent to disrupt the voting system.
offer or cast biased votes for any other user.
hold more than one DPChallenge account.
vote from another userĂ¢€™s DPChallenge account.
attempt to alter the point totals for any entry in any way.

We will:
use automatic and manual methods to actively monitor voting patterns for abuse.
ignore the votes of any user we believe is voting disruptively.
disqualify challenge entries from, suspend or ban anyone who abuses the voting system in any way.

Entry, which didn't do very well scorewise but found a limited audience:

Someone else mentioned it somewhere (don't remember where) that they learned they didn't much care for Weston by doing this exercise. I kind of agree with that sentiment. On the other hand, it did teach me to look a bit differently at things. To look almost flatly and still find shape and form. To try to isolate what I found. So while I wasn't entirely thrilled with Weston (though I do like some of it!), I did enjoy the exercise and found it very worthwhile.

My first attempt and failure at shooting for the challenge. There is one more shot that I liked better, but it was a no go for "decency" reasons.

Overall, I think my entry was a much better photo.
