The strange thing is that today, when my AVG contract is due to expire, is the first time in the history of this computer than AVG has found ANYTHING - 3 warnings. But Microsoft Security Essentials has found a few problems over the same period.
The big decision is a choice between
1. renew AVG
2. let Microsoft Security Essentials run as my only security
3. go for Norton 360, which seems to have some interesting extras.
They all have mixed reviews though and I really don't know what is the right thing to do. I don't suppose I really need to rush the decision as I have MSE, but the whole thing makes me rather uncomfortable. I've had a couple of scares over the last few months and I don't want something to go seriously wrong. |

I've just read about a product called Norton 360 in our local newspaper. As I haven't committed to renewing AVG yet, I wasn't wondering if this is a better option. Is this what you're using? |
Norton 360 is really just Norton Internet Security with the added feature that they give you a couple of gigs of online backup for your files |

Is that it? The report I read speaks of identity protection, PC tune-up features and "Norton Safe Web for Facebook" which scans and protects your wall. On-line backup may be useful, but I'm not sure it's that important to me. |

You appear to want to buy the Norton. Go ahead. Tag this as a Watched thread and come back in three months and let us know what you think. |

I don't know what I want. Or maybe what I really want is not to buy anything as I've just spent a lot of money on editing software. But I do want my computer to be safe. |

Gina - free is good. The MS security product is the way to go as they will stay on top of issues related to their own operating system. Save yourself headache and money.

ALMOST ALL (READ ALL) the FREE, let us check/speed up your PC stuff will load so much impossible to remove junk on your pc you must do a complete reload of your softwear to get rid of it. NEVER NEVER get any of that stuff unless you are sure it is coming directly from MicroSoft from their website. |
