Get a nice cup of coffee and you can sit there for hours on end looking throught the magazine rack, photography book section, and the post-production books (Photoshop, Elements, PaintShop Pro,etc).
Lot's of threads on good books and mags. Do a forum search.

Hi. I'm the new guy. Orange was my first submission. Like some of you I'm not interested in score. I'm here for the comments. If I score a solid 1 or a ribbon it doesn't do me any good if I don't know why. But so far there have been some good comments on my photo although the quantity is low (4 comments out of 95 votes).
I have commented on some photos in the parallel and in the orange challenges. I hesitate to comment much because I'm still learning. Until I have trained my eye I'll have to skip photos I'm not sure on. I comment on obvious things like blown highlights, grain, focus, resolution. But the more "artistic" areas of composition, selection of subject, interpritation, etc are voodoo magics I'm trying to grasp. It's why I'm here. :-)
Anyway thanks to everyone (all 4 of you so far) that commented. I appreciate you taking the time to tell me something about my photo. Even though I don't have the experiance I'll try and add more comments out of courtesy to those who have taken the effort to submit. But when you see my name just take those comments with a grain of salt! |

Hax0r, thanks for your comment on mine! It was my second one and other than the first one I got, it's the only helpful/rewarding one out of the 6. All the others are either useless or irrelevant because their monitors are wacky with colors or something. -_-
I like to comment on my very favorites and the worst ones. The worst ones first so that I can tell them why I didn't like it and what they can do to improve. I usually run out of time to do much more than that, so I don't get to the mid-range ones where I have to spend more time looking for WHY I rated it as I did.
