It looks like photo-impressionism week is upon us. Since I have no idea what that is, I'll just let a few others post first until I get an idea of what it is.
Since I'll be on crutches until mid April, my ability to get out and about for new photos is limited, so I'm happy to do this another month if everyone else still has interest. If anyone else is interested in continuing this another month, throw some weekly themes out.
Here's a couple of ideas of mine:
-animals
-*ARGH!* the perfect shot for a challenge that you took before the challenge was announced.

In very short:
"Impressionism is a movement in French painting, sometimes called optical realism because of its almost scientific interest in the actual visual experience and effect of light and movement on appearance of objects.
Impressionist motto - human eye is a marvelous instrument. Impact worldwide was lasting and huge. The name 'Impressionists' came as artists embraced the nickname a conservative critic used to ridicule the whole movement. Painting 'Impression' |

Both good, and I LOVE the idea of *ARGH!*
How about:-
- gardens (could be gardens as a whole or details within them.)
- at the beach (again, whole scene, or details.)
- seen better days

Making photos that look like impressionists paintings is not really the idea? How does photo impressionism differ from abstract? |

I still don't have a good idea of what this subject is, but I'll have a look over my archives later to see what might suit. I was actually under the mistaken impression that it was going to be photos with a treatment to make them look like paintings. It appears there is some overlap with abstract photography, though not necessarily as abstract in nature.

I did these shots a couple of months back. Would you consider these to be impressionistic?
