One hesitates to follow the former aperture-whats-his-name who was flinging out ancient
Challenge suggestions with great abandon, but someone has to do it...
I remember Challenges in 2004 and 2007 called DPC Album Cover* and while personally, I did woefully
in each of them, and have no ideas that might star in a new version, it was fun to do.
And, golly, gee whiz, we could use T E X T !
*there may have been more; my search abilities? (blehh)

Here's the challenge you are thinking of. It was actually DPL Album cover. There was also the more recent DPC Cinema challenge in '09. There may have been some further challenges along that idea, but I'm not aware of them.

| I'm all for a graphic arts challenge, but perhaps we should try something other than album or magazine cover, or movie poster, all of which we've done. A brochure, a book cover, a business card (maximum dimensions 280x160 pixels?), or something else perhaps ... |

| i think doing a business card would be fun and EXTREMELY informative... graphic design is an area i am woefully inadequate in! |

I'd go for a book cover, something like "Design a new front cover for your favorite work of fiction." That would be fun.

Or, maybe Make a book cover using for a title words beginning with DPC. |
