Give Adobe a call. I'd find it strange that they would limit the offer to specific countries, but I suppose that is possible. Adobe 'phone reps are usually very good, and they have done things for me that I though going in were going to be a problem. If there is a way to earn your business, I bet they will get it done.

I concur with Fritz, the phone reps are quite good. I was allowed to upgrade to PS CS5 from the full CS3 educational edition which is not really supposed to happen, but the rep waved her magic wand and allowed the upgrade. Give them a call, you may have to wait for a while to get a live person, but they are worth the wait.

It appears I would have to phone Singapore for customer services.

When I had a close look at the page offering the discount, it actually says All prices are available from the Adobe.com store and by calling 800-585-0774 and are valid in the U.S. and Canada only (excluding Quebec). I imagine phoning them would be a waste of time and money. The annoying part is that the discount on Lightroom (when bought with Photoshop) seems to be worldwide, but I don't want that one. This whole exercise started out because I want Nik HDR. Before that I was quite satisfied with Photoshop Elements. Now that I've used Photoshop for a while, the cheaper option of using Lightroom and Elements just doesn't seem so appealing any more. And I would have to pay as much for Lightroom as others are paying for Photoshop.

I'd give 'em a call anyway, unless the call is going to be outrageously expensive. Tell 'em that as a long-time customer you are disappointed that you are denied the upgrade path based on your location, and that other offers of theirs appear to be world-wide. Ask if there is any way they can help.

I'm guessing that call will be pretty expensive. Somehow everything is here. I don't even want to try working out how much cheaper my 7D would have been in the USA.
