So with all the talk on the other thread about Niks Silver Efex 2, I've been thinking harder about the Nik software suite, or whether I just want to get SE2.
My question isn't about SE2, but rather Viveza. Can anyone who uses Lightroom 3 tell me if Viveza can do anything that you cant do in LR3 with adjustment brushes etc? Or is the charm of Viveza that it just does it easier?
Pondering whether Viveza (or the suite) is worth it. I dont have huge libraries of images, so I have all the time in the world to edit in LR3. So wondering if Viveza is more a time-saver than actual tool that can do things LR3 cant?
Any insights |

| Viveza2 is a definite time saver. I find the control points much easier to use than LR3/Photoshop when trying to selectively brighten/darken areas of an image. I use LR3 for organizing, croping/etc, and color correction. Everything else is Nik Viveza/Color/Silver/Photoshop. Hopefully you will hear from folks that use the selective processing aspects of LR3 more than I do. BTW, download a trial version. Be warned that the ease of use is addictive. |

Thanks Ben, good to hear a resounding endorsement for Viveza!
I am particularly interested in hearing from folks who use the adjustment brushes considerably for localized, selective editing in LR3 and how they find this obviates/necessitates the need for Viveza. |

| I use Viveza (not "2" yet) in Aperture. It is a part of my standard workflow, use it on almost every image. |

| One of the added benefits over straight LR3 is the selection it makes is very accurate to the tone / color you are trying to work on. It along with Color Efex Pro and Silver Efex are the best of the suite. Money I was never sorry spending. |
