A typical tarot deck has 22 major arcana cards -- face cards -- like "The Fool", "The Magician", "The High Priestess", etc.
//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_Arcana
Then there's a whole pile of minor arcana cards -- number cards -- divided into four suits.
It would be fun to have everyone shoot images inspired by tarot cards. We could make our own DPC tarot deck! |

This challenge sounds like fun.
You don't have to have a deck to shoot, just take your inspiration from a card and shot what you think would make a good picture for that card?
Like the Chariot could be a picture of your car,
the 2 of Cups could be a couple having a class of wine,
the 10 of Swords would certainly be shot under a dark and cloudy sky
on and on....
This could be lots of fun!
If you don't have a deck or know anything about the cards the Rider-Waite deck (which is the standard deck although there are thousands of other decks out there) can easily be googled.
Here's a link to some images....

Sounds good. I like the Tarot.
My favourite set is the Thoth deck by Aleister Crowley and Lady Freida Harris.. Beautiful cards and full of depth and complexity. The wonderful Italian writer Italo Calivino wrote a fantastic novel using the cards called, 'The Castle Of Crossed Destinies.' which i highly recommend.
I'm tempted to suggest Expert editing but we've already just had one of them. Still, it's the sort of challenge it would suit.

I like this idea. But don't take a picture of actual cards, but what the card represents. |

Oh yes, definitely. Just taking photos of existing cards would get a 1 from me. |

Exactly, not a picture of the card but take your inspiration from the card for your shot. |
