| Does anyone know a place in Ontario that sells Alien Bees? I figured Henry's Photo Source would, but they don't... I can't seem to find them anywhere. |

| They are direct sales for US/Cnd... I mean you would find some on ebay I would assume but I have not heard of a reseller in Canada. |

Shoot Shutter-For-Hire a pm. He will know (he bought some). VitaminB might own one as well. |

As far as I know, Alien Bees can deliver to Ontario, but they dont sell in any stores. Shutter-For-Hire knows much more than I do about them. |

| Online Only for new purchases, but they do sell in Canada and have an authorized service rep there. Used gear, of course, might possibly be found. |

| I have lots of AlienBees equipment. I live in Burlington, Ontario. AB only sells online. Delivery is by UPS. |

Just so you know there is no duty on items purhased in the USA.
If you live close to the border, find out if there is a UPS store on the USA side, have the item shipped there and pick it up there. The only fee you will incur is the HST when you cross the border back into Canada.
Be very careful about having items shipped to Canada as you could and probably will incur "Brokerage Fees" which can be quite steep.
I purchased most of my equipment in the USA and either had it shipped to the UPS in Ogdensburg, NY or to a PO Box I used to have at the Post Office there.
Oh, and the fee that UPS charges me is 5.00USD per parcel.
PM me if you need more information.

I ordered from AB a while back and a quick phone call to them means that you can have the package shipped 'Expedited', which means no brokerage fees. You'll only pay brokerage if you use the standard shipping service (same applies to any UPS or Fedex shipments) - I've ordered a bunch of stuff over the years from various suppliers in the US and never had to pay brokerage fees.
The only thing you will then pay is HST. As the previous poster said, duty does not apply to photographic equipment. |
