Hi
I am interested in a cheap tripod for tabletop Photography and Copying Work, by copying i mean, where subjects lies flat on table top and i shoot from over head.
Eg would be photography of a card .
Example card
I normally get distortion in my results like these when i dont use tripod or use my current tripod Pic 1
Pict 2
Above Photographs are example of copying work .
This time subject was small but normally i have to click fabrics like this with embroidery ,Fabric
Also do macro work like macro example
So when i have to shoot the fabric , which i spread on floor i have to atleast shoot from height of 3-4 feet to get the whole fabric in frame and i dont want legs of tripod to be seen in the picture.
So i need tripod that can go upto height of 3-4 feet with legs of tripod that can spread and not be part of frame when i postion my camera towards ground. Minimum height should be very less for macro work, table top phtography work like

I would suggest a tripod that will extend as tall as 6 ft. The examples you have given I found were not straight or level. You can pick up a cheap tripod for about $30.00can that should do your jobs you need. Optex T565. It is fairly cheap and has all 3 leveler sight bubbles. If your work is on a table and the tripod is on the floor then you shouldn't see the legs. They also have a tabletop tripod that is about 6 inches high for $10.00can which could sit ontop of a ladder if needed for more height. |

Hi
I shot this Perfume bottle with my present Tripod, which has minimum height of atleast 1-1.5-2 feet, i could not place the tripod on table so i placed it on floor , still i got distortion.
copying work for macro and table top photography are my main criteria, as regards to photography of fabric on floor , it would be great if tripod can do that but it is not that necessary

Well every where i posted they said it distorted i.e top of bottle is bigger than lower.( it is true)
Problems is that minimum height of tripod is around 2 feet, hence when shooting something like perfume or other samples i have posted earlier i dont get a right angle because of height and than i have to place it on floor thus increasing distance and comprosing on angel

I would suggest one of the Manfrotto PRO types. These PRO types have the possibility to remove the central column and use it as an horizontal arm, especially for shooting from above.
Might not fit your criteria of being "cheap" , but it works perfectly.
