Can you actually unfavorite a photograph? Or do the user's account keep disappearing and thus their favorites? I should just copy these down someday so I can find out. |

Yes, you can unfavorite a photograph. Go to your profile page, click on your favorites. In the left side, click on "manage you favorites" and you can remove a photo you had fav'd by checking a pic, then towards the bottom, there's a button to remove the selected pics...

good to know. Although I'd rather that it was because people kept getting kicked off instead of deciding that my photos sucked. :D |

I still have a few from Mr_Pants so it wouldn't be because they left the site...sorry. Of course those were challenge entries so maybe if the favorites were not entries they would disappear??

You sure you didn't delete any photos that had favorites on them? Easy way to lose them and comments. |

Another cause is having strong opinions and / or participating in rant. I've probably lost about a dozen that way.

Meh, rants are rants... Great photography is still wonderful no matter who made it. |

I sometimes "un-favorite" an image. Not because of anything the photographer did, but some just don't stand the test of time. Which is not to say all my favcrites are classic beauties, but after 8+ years, some don't strike me in the same way. Others I still feel something for.... |

Or if you've hidden an image in your portfolio because you're considering using it for the "Best of 2010" challenge? |

Ever heard the term "Indian Giver"? :P
I think if you unfav one, you should leave a comment stating that the photo didn't used to suck, but now it does. :P |

Thank you, Wendy! I'm so glad you're losing favorites instead of loosing them! :-) Well, you know what I mean. |

yknow actually it does happen, i had once not long ago pm'd a user with an honest question about a comment they left, and i don't know how it came accross but they basically ripped me a new one in reply and i just couldn't look at their pics the same again and removed them off my fav's list. sounds kind of silly even as i type it but thats how i felt |

I have not seen anything like this myself. Hmmm.
Man, the forums don't seem as hopping as they used to back in the day, or maybe Thursdays are just slow. |

Wow, where to start?! Our two boys are doing wonderful, one of them 2.5 yrs and the other 1. We're in my last semester of school and I'll graduate in May this year! I already have a job lined up and ready to go design SSD drives for Micron. 2010 was probably my worst picture taking year since I have joined DPC because school ate up ALL of my time. But doing very well and have an easy enough semester to poke around on DPC some more. How bout yourself? |

Wow - you HAVE been busy! Huge congrats on having the job lined up, too - that's most excellent! I didn't take many pictures in 2010 either. I just can't get into concrete and freeways, but oh when I do decide that's my thing, I'll have TONS of opportunities! :-) |
