In a couple of weeks i'm off to India for a well deserved holiday, i have a D7000 & the following lenses:

Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 16-85 f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
Sigma 85mm 1.4
Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G
Nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED
Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 APO DG Macro HSM for Nikon
Tokina AF 11-16mm f/2.8 116 AT-X Pro DX for Nikon

I will not be traveling about to much as its more of an Ayurvedic thing, but i will have all afternoons to get out & take photos. The last time i was in Asia i didn't have the choice in lenses or the ambition to be able to take great photos, i was actually a bit disappointed at what i did take, although i know its not the equipment that makes a great photo i was wondering what other photographers would take ?. I suppose what i'm asking is would you go heavy or light?.

If I were you I would take the following,
85mm 1.4
70-200mm
11-16mm

That should cover just about any condition you might find yourself shooting in.

Thanks for the reply, i'm a bit apprehensive about the weight of the 70 200. I might stick all three in my bag tomorrow and try a long walk & see how it feels.
I have a lowpro backpack or a Tenba messenger shoulder bag what would you take?, the shoulder bag is great for paperwork passport ext and excellent for easy access but not as good for carrying heavy gear.
