I have just got a new Canon EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens and have been testing it to make sure that it is OK. I got a very strange problem when shooting in bright sunshine. Here is an example:
Anyone knows what happened there? It was captured in RAW with AWB on Auto. |

have you tried setting the white balance manually?

I can fix it in Lightroom with White Balance and color adjustments but I need to know where the original problem is - the lens? The camera? My settings? I have 6 days left to return the lens if the lens is the source of the problem hence the urgency.

Can't believe it is related to the lens... just looks like it got both a good bit of overexposure and a whacked white balance.

Thanks! I can relax now. The lens is otherwise great.

Glad that's resolved...
Now I'm curious as to why it's listed as a prime lens on this page:
