I need to look into getting new cameras for my company for bridge intersection work. ideally a and shoot that is dust and weather proof with a solid zoom and good low light capability. it cant be too large to carry around easily or too small to hold comfortably with gloves on.
any recommendations?

I have this one too shoot under water. Might not fit all your requirements, but I think Olympus makes a series of these weather proof cameras
Olympus Tough
Picture quality is better than I expected. |

I first saw it in a Home Depot display with some Ryobi power tools. I'd suspect someone else's camera is inside all the chunky rubber.

I got this Sony for the wife, because she likes to drop electronics onto pavement or into toilets. Sometimes she puts her electronics through the washing machine.
The front slides up over the lens, and it's waterproof & shock resistant. Good for McSpazzotrons. But it's probably too small for your guys to handle with gloves on.
Good quality photos, though I haven't played with it too much yet, it's difficult to find it and the bottom of the wife's hockey bag purse. |

Sweetie just gave ME this for the holidays (NO, Slippy and I are NOT spouses... well, to each other, anyway. I am NOT a spazzzzzz)
Have only played with it VERY briefly but it is amazing in low light. Pretty sharp captures, mild noise. It does capture in RAW format, so if that is a consideration, forgetaboutit. The tiny size sure takes getting used to, but it's perfect to put in your pocket for all those "just in case" scenarios.
Edit to add, it does VERY acceptable macros, and has a pretty amazing wide angle capability.
