Hello.
If anyone out there has an iPad, and a spare 5 minutes, would you mind taking a moment to look at my website www.samchadwickphoto.com and tell me if the slideshows (expeditions and recent projects) are working correctly. I've tried to enhance my site to be iFriendly but I don't have any mobile devices to be able to test it!
Thank you in advance.
Sam

It looks GREAT. The slide shows work even better than expected. You can flip through the pictures in the galleries or click the arrows to scroll through. I took a few snapshot of a few of the galleries.
1. - portrait w/ gallery preview
2. - landscape w/ full screen
3. - landscape w/ gallery preview
4. - landscape w/ arrows
The only issue I had was the first menu item on the top (portfolio) required Flash to use... and Flash is not available on iphones or ipads (yet?). It's not really a big deal, except that someone clicking the very first menu item and encountering Flash might stop there, thinking your whole site is Flash based.
It's really great that you are thinking of this but I'm curious as to why you haven't bought an iPad yet. The galleries look so great on the iPad that it seems like it would be an amazing tool to carry around with you (quicker and easier than booting up your laptop when you're trying to show off your amazing work). :o)

I have an iPad and I didnt realize that the no flash thing would be an annoyance. My website will load the first page but thats it. Would someone know how I would be able to make my site iPad friendly?

Thank you very much Tammster. Glad you think it looks good. Yes, I've not fixed the first link yet - that's a much bigger piece of work. And I don't have a reason that I haven't bought an iPad yet, other than I'm not sure I have much of a use for it myself yet.

Don't use Flash. You can convert Flash video to other formats, but those buttons have to be created in HTML or they will be inaccessible on iPads, iPods, and most current smartphones. One option is to create an alternate site for non-Flash users and have a clickable button or autodetect the browser to route viewers accordingly. |

| Sam, aside from that first Flash link it looks great! The gallery treatment works especially well as a full-screen slideshow. Note that most of the info at the bottom of your homepage is "below the fold," so you have to scroll to see it. |

Scalvert, thanks for your comment.
Fixed the first flash link. Took me all morning! Thanks for the feedback.

Got another friend to lend me their iPad; Steve says he likes it very much indeed.
