Here is a pretty cool bee photo I took this morning.
this litle guy was very curious and hung around our camp site for close to 2 hours. I finally got out the camera to try to get some shots of him flying around.
20 minutes and 24 shots later I got this shot.
Hand held, @ 200mm with 12 mm Kenko extension tube, manual focus, ISO 400, 1/500 f9.5.
I have more pics to share later on of some other cool bugs and bees

Hey nice shot James! You can se how they hover; they don't flap (up & down), they scull (forward & back). Very cool.

The shot looks a bit blur... from camera shake or out-of-focus, perhaps...
... but considering the situation WHOA GREAT CATCH!!! :)))

i have a similar one
edit: and by the way, that type of head on shot is nearly impossible to catch with such good focus. it's a great shot. the tones could be tweaked a little to make the bee pop out more but nonetheless a great shot. not easy to pull that off

Mine is heading out rather than in. But, I like it too.
I had one from last summer that was coming in for a landing but not as clear as yours. :)

Very cool! Those pictures are fantastic.
I stood by a bush full of bees this past fall and I got some nice flower pics, but no action bee shots as fantastic as these!
