My budget is very limited so basically the 4 possibilities are :
1- Yongnuo YN-468 e-TTL the most expensive (less than 100$)
2- Yongnuo YN-465 e-TTL
3- Yongnuo YN-560 speedlite
4- Yongnuo YN-460 II this is the cheapest one (around 40$)
My camera is a Canon 1000D, I never have used an external flash and I prefer saving for a new lens rather than spending money on a flash.
I have no idea about flash and I really would appreciate your help about TTL, is it better to have TTL or a more powerful flash ?
I have read good reviews of the YN-560 but I truly value your opinions.
I'm planning to use the flash mostly for indoor portraits.

Im going to keep an eye on this as well, i know nothing about flashes, so im curious to see what other recommend, this is going to be my next purchase.
i have the same camera. I see you have the 50 f.8, that lens has worked wonders for me with indoor lowlight shots, i also found out to dial down the flash compensation to -2 for the on board flash. |

I'm planning on buying a YN-468 in the near future. If I only needed a second flash for Manual exposure strobist stuff, then I'd get the less expensive model, but I am also buying it for my wife to have a decently powered flash, so I need TTL.
I'd say get one of the TTL capable models, and the choice between the two might be up to whether you prefer control or simplicity.

| I think I will also be getting the YN-468. Steve also recommended it for me, and it seems like a good value for what you get. We will have to have a review forum after we get them and all decide what we think. |

You need to weigh up budget vs setting up the flash.
I have a pair of YN-460 II and I use them to light the background with some cheap ebay hong kong triggers.
You can use this mounted on your camera as your main (or fill) light but you will have to either use a light meter (which if you are on a budget I assume you don't have) or take several test shots to get the exposure correct. If you are taking pictures of people you are going to annoy them probably and if you are taking candid shots you may miss the action.
If the light from the sun is changing you will also need to keep changing the flash power and checking your exposure. If you are inside then the light isn't going to change so it will be much easier to get the correct exposure set up.
So in a roundabout way I suggest getting a TTL flash unless you are only going to use it for studio/indoors work. |
