Hi All,
I've just realised that my 2006 version of Rawshooter Essentials does not support the PEF or DNG RAW formats of my new K20D. As I understand it Adobe bought Pixmantec and no longer offers Rawshooter. Correct me if I'm wrong here. So, can anyone recommend an free alternative to Rawshooter that's simple to use but offers the same adjustments to exposure etc that Rawshooter does?

There are at least several others listed here: Freebie imaging software: the big list
There are a handful in including yours listed right at the beginning, but there may be some others that were added further on in the thread.
Does Pentax not give you something decent with the new camera?

Thanks. In answer to your question, Pentax does supply browser and editing software with the camera, but I'm not a big fan. The integration between the two is pretty clunky. Guess I've just got used to the way Rawshooter works. |

| Ahhhhhhh! I loved Rawshooter - was gutted when I heard they was acquired by Adobe - but then Lightroom came out!! :) |

Me too. Adobe knew what they were doing, and have themselves a big winner in Lr. They have not sat still, have kept improving the product, and it is truly first-rate. |
