Very excited for you Wendy. That's a score I wish I could see again. Your doing something right.

Reaching for my lowest score so far on DPC, a 4.7. I'm not surprised, the picture I took is, imo, awful. It wasn't that bad 4am this morning when I submitted it, but now when I'm wide awake, phew, it's not my best photo so to speak. I'm surprised that I'm on 4.7 at all, I would give my self a three if I was voting on that picture.

5.3 welcome back

At this rate it'll end up as a 9... Fortunately (for everyone else), I'm sure the trend will break soon, but it has been a very good morning..

Now 3 comments, all expressing the same mis-apprehension about my photo - very frustrating, given that I got up before dawn three times and spent hours out in the cold and wet.

oh no! (now you have me wondering if I expressed apprehension in any of my comments so far...)

No, no comment from you, but don't get me wrong - I am glad people have left the comments - always better to know what it is that people don't like about a photo, or that how they see a photo is different to the intent that the photographer had.

misapprehend = To interpret incorrectly; to misunderstand

IN other words, no apprehension necessary to misapprehend :-)

Not sure how well that would work...

But in lieu of that, you're certainly welcome to buy me a calibrated monitor :)

Eh, judging by your shots - I doubt you have need of one. But, when I hit the lottery, you're first on my list since you suggested with a smiley :)

oooh!! me next, me next! :) :) :)

Actually, I'm very curious -- I'm wondering whether my monitor is too light. Everything that I print is dark, so I need to brighten everything before I print.

Eh, I can't complain too much. i knew this shot was horrendous the moment I submitted it. Dumb animal crossed my path while I was shooting and I got the lame idea "Hey! wildlife! I'll submit this!"

Note to self: take time to post-process nature photos on this site - and also take notice of the challenge rules. Stupid me thought it was basic. No chance.

I think I might stick with my favorite subjects.

There are very good images in this challenges but unfortunately a lot of them fall down on not meeting the challenge description mostly on the last part of it! I hope the voters have also read and understood it! For the purpose of this challenge, "wildlife" should be considered non-domesticated mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians living in a NATURAL ENVIRONMENT! Birdfeeders are not natural environments!

Just thought that I would post this, since I have never seen it before (on one of my images) and can't imagine when I am likely to see it again...

Whilst it doesnt affect me, i think you are being rather anal about this, whats not to say that over the past 50 years birdfeeders havent become part of a birds natural habitat. lighten up poppet.

My comments suggest a heap of people think mine is DNMC, which is somewhat frustrating and disappointing. Decent enough score, so i can't really complain, but it goes up and down like a yo-yo, even with just one extra score added.
