Do you run Office2000 (I have "Small Business" edition) on Windows7 ?
What has your experience been? Does it work ok? |

I can't say for sure, but it should work without a hitch. I ass-u-me you are running the 64-bit version of Win7, which would be the worst case. I find that most applications install and run without problems on Win7, even those designed before 64-bit computing was available. The only apps that are pretty much a write-off are those written for 16-bit systems, which at this point is ancient history.
ETA:
Create a restore point and launch the installer. If it successfully installs, open each application, browse for and open a file, then Save As, verifying that it can write to the file system. While you have the file open, you can also test printing. If it passes these tests, you should be home free. If it fails, simply restore to your restore point and go buy Office 2010 :-P

It worked for me. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit home edition, and yes, Office 2000 works OK--by OK I mean it has a strange 1 pixel blue bar around the perimiter of the window when minimised, but apart from that, it's been fine.
I've also got a copy running on Windows 7 32-bit Starter :-)

Win 7 64 bit runs Office 2002 SP3 just fine.

we still run 2003 at work even though the rest of the world has moved on, granted its on xp. Not sure why we never upgraded, we pay an annual fee with microsoft so we have the upgrade.
i think there was a bug in 2007 in calculating excel that made them leary but that has since been fixed. |

My gut feel is that most businesses that still run 2003 are doing it because they are afraid of all the teeth-gnashing over the "ribbon" abomination interface change. That and the XML-based .docx and .xlsx file format change. |

I decided, WTF. I upgraded my laptop from XP Home to Win7 Home 64-bit, which required a reformat & install, as opposed to the upgrade.
Office 2000 works fine for me, I only installed Word & Excel.
FrontPage 2000 also seems to work fine, installed from a separately purchashed CD set.
Adobe Premiers Elements 7 (for my video editing) still has problems with MP4 files, as it did in XP. I was hoping this would solve it.
Of done clean installs for Windows OS's from 3.1 on up, and this was the fastest and easiest. Maybe partly because it's happening on a laptop (Dell XPS M1710, 2GHz Core 2 CPU) that's pretty young, 2008. I only had to get a new vidio driver from nvidia. The touchpad scroller-sides need a driver too, but that always just annoyed me, so I'll probably leave it off.
Downloading Premiere Element 9 trial now, but my laptop only hits the minimum requirement for CPU, I think, so not a lot of hope. It wouldn't install on this machine for XP, so I'm expecting failure. :-( |

| Bah! I don't think my laptop has the juice to run Premiere 9. It could open the files into thumbs, but couldn't play video, just sound. :-( The screen couldn't even manage to redraw properly, and my video card is NVidia GeForce Go with 512MB onboard. :-/ |
